Welcome, friends, romans, countrymen, to my lovingly overdesigned and totally overengineered yearly recap!
Stop and Smell the Flowers
I had the absolute audacity to set a flowery, anticapitalism, pinterest-y theme like “Stop and Smell the flowers” and then still ignore it. In hindsight, I am lucky that new years resolutions are notorious for their easy recyclability.
Now, while my ideas of being bored, slowing down and wasting more time have certainly not worked out as intended, they seem more and more like worthwhile pursuit. Now that I'm taking a bit of a resting semester, I'm thanking everyone that made me promise to take no courses this winter.
Spend 8.730 minutes in dance class this year.
Set 28 Objectives, fullfilled about (drumrolls please) 8.
Remember the point where I talked about "slowing down and relaxing a little"? Even without my own overly ambitious goal setting, I encountered a lot of change in my life that kept me from doing just that and leaves me fundamentally changed in a place that is technically not too different from a year ago. I'm a year older now, deeply disillisioned about my chosen field of work, still a bit more heartbroken than I would admit in polite society. Still, I trust that things will fall into place if I just let them.
Wrote 14 blogposts for work, 3-4 personal blogposts that remain unpublished, collected over 500 new notes, wrote 2 real life handwritten letters and 2 papers for university. My return to writing was less of a choice and more of a happy little accident.
Finished two games and 10 books. Started my website project and got involved in the personal web. Watched way more Youtube than I want to admit. Listened to 55k minutes of music by december (I think I need to reconsider my media consumption in 2025)
