A week like relief on every area - the last exam written, some time spend with people and the rain! A week of solid rain, a bit windy, with the earliest hint of autumn. As a child I always wondered why adults were talking about the weather as much, but as a practising adult it is a pretty relevant part of my life. Rain is no longer just a given, it’s serves as the most beautiful soundscape and you get to nod at other adults with a “well, nature needed that for sure”. Not only nature, I needed that. I needed to come home after a coffee date in late summer rain, and finish exam season and spend time with my wonderful uni friends, and to take a day to move furniture around and bake a cheesecake with spices and peaches.

managed to watch Titane (2021) with my nesting partner! I’m pretty sure he hated it for reasons I enjoyed it for - the lingering tension, the way it does not take time to explain itself and still stays with you for a while to let you pick apart the themes. The absolute wild combination of body horror and found family.

Also watched the Chainsaw Man Film Reze Ark and had my heart broken AGAIN by Fujimoto. Enjoyed it, but man.

New on my stash: Utopia for realists by Rutger Bregman.

This weeks testdrive was Clean Reserve Warm Cotton, although testdrive is a bit of a lie because that has been my (almost) daily perfume since 2024. It starts with strong synthetic aldehydic notes (like washing powder) and moves through a minty phase with a tad of flowers to woody and warm notes of Siam-Benzoe and musk. People like to point this one out as “you smell nice”.
